How To Ingest Incidents From ServiceNow

Step by Step Instructions on ingesting incident information from ServiceNow

Step 1: Ingesting Tickets / Incident information from ServiceNow. You need ServiceNow account URL, Username and Password before progressing further.

From cfxGenie home page, Click on '+' sign as shown below.

Step 2: Job Overview:

Job Overview provides help documentation for cfxGenie. No user action is required on this page. Click 'Next'.

Step 3: Job Details:

You will be taken to 'Job Properties' screen/view as shown below.

Select ServiceNow option on 'Job Details' screen and enter your ServiceNow account details. Enter your ServiceNow URL, Username and Password to make connection to ServiceNow account and retrieve incident / ticketing information. A sample entry is as shown below.

Click 'Next'.

Step 4: User Inputs:

All the fields under 'User Inputs' are automatically mapped for ServiceNow (after the connection to ServiceNow account was successful ). Unless you want to change a field mapping, you can cross check the mapped entries and move on to the next step. Currently mapped user inputs screen is as shown below.

Step 5: Cluster Inputs

The Cluster Inputs are automatically populated for ServiceNow option selected. These are used for ML/AI clustering algorithms. If you would like to change any of the mappings or if for whatever reason the values are incorrectly mapped, you can update the fields on this screen. The following screen shows currently mapped field/values. Click 'Next' to navigate to Cost Inputs screen.

Step 6: Cost Inputs:

CloudFabrix provides industry standard L1, L2, L3 values as cost inputs. However, as each organization L1, L2, L3 values per hour may be different, please update these values (on this screen) as per your organization recommended values. These values are important for cost/saving calculations.

The following screen shows the default values.

Click 'Finish' to complete the Job submission/creation process.

Step 7: Finish:

Once the job is submitted and processing is completed, it takes few minutes to ingest the data, apply clustering algorithms to generate visual dashboards, reports and analysis.

The status while the process going through shows as 'Processing' as shown below.

The check the job status, click refresh button as shown below. Once the job status is moved to 'Completed' from 'Processing', you can navigate to view dashboards, reports, visualize the data analysis and perform other actions.
